The role of Local Connector is very varied, involving relationship-building with local organisations, logistical tasks and being on hand to assist Readers when required.
You will help with distributing publicity, building links with referral agencies and sourcing venues (e.g., local Libraries, banks, community centres etc.) where Reading Pairs can meet for coaching sessions or in the case of remote coaching, where a Reader can access IT equipment to log in to coaching sessions online.
Local Connectors will be on hand to support Readers working remotely for their first few reading sessions, introducing them to venue staff/volunteers, who will greet and support the Reader with any IT issues during their coaching sessions in the future. As the Reader progresses, you will meet with them to present certificates and provide resources they will need for their next level.
