Actor – Altru Drama/How to be Happy production, closes 16 May

Altru Drama CIC are now casting for a talented, enthusiastic, and committed actor for ‘How to be Happy’ which will tour in May – July 2022.

The role is available due to a recasting; therefore, they are specifically looking for an actor from the Global Majority.
they welcome applications from actors from the following backgrounds:

African or Caribbean, South Asian, East or Southeast Asian, or mixed heritage, or other people of the Global Majority (This includes but is not exclusive to people of Middle Eastern, Arab, Latinx, Jewish, Romany and Irish Traveller
heritage).

The actor must also be a driver and aged 23+ (This is due to restrictions on driving a hire van for the project)
DBS required (they can support this process if you don’t have a DBS)

How to be Happy is a play about looking for happiness and finding your way in the world.

• 45 minute performance
• Performed to Year 8 and 9 pupils
• No workshops
• Touring nationally (31st May – 8th July inclusive of rehearsal)
• 4 week tour

Luca (15):

Has disappeared into a world of computer games. Confident but seems a bit lost. Luca was originated by a male identifying actor through R&D, but we are open to the option of Luca being played by a male, female or nonbinary identifying actor.

Fee: ITC minimum. (Based on a 6 day contract as there will be weekend travel days, exact amount per week £494.00)
